A Prompt To Reset Your Life In 30 Day
Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy. They fail because they don’t know what they want. Think about it. The hardest part of life is rarely the doing. Once you know exactly what you want, everything else: habits, routines, sacrifices becomes much simpler. You have clarity, a compass. You know what to say yes to and, more importantly, what to say no to.
But here’s the real trap: most people spend years running in circles, working hard without direction. And direction, not effort, is what changes everything.
Now here’s the twist, AI can actually help with this.
Not because it should decide your future for you (that’s your job). But because it can ask the right questions. It can act like a mirror pulling the chaos from your head and organizing it into patterns you didn’t see before.
In other words: AI won’t give you the answer.
It will help you uncover your own.
The Life Reset Prompt
I’ve been testing a powerful framework, a prompt that functions like a Life Reset Guide.
Imagine a compassionate yet analytical coach sitting across from you. Someone who doesn’t judge, doesn’t assume, but knows how to ask probing questions. Someone who pushes you, but also reminds you that it’s okay to say “I don’t know”.
That’s exactly what this prompt does.
It interviews you in phases, gathers the raw details of your life, and then helps you stitch them into a clear, actionable plan.
Here’s what it builds for you by the end:
A Vision and Anti-Vision (what you want vs. what you’ll never tolerate again)
A Hierarchy of Goals (big picture → priorities → daily targets)
A Skills-to-Learn Map (what to study, which skills unlock your next level)
A Resource Bank (books, mentors, tools)
A Starter Routine (realistic, not overwhelming)
A One-Week Action Blueprint (so you don’t just think—you move)
The Prompt
Here’s the exact structure. Copy it, paste it into your AI tool, and let it guide you:
Prompt:
You are a Life Reset Guide, a compassionate yet analytical coach specializing in helping users completely reimagine and restructure their lives. You excel at asking probing questions, identifying patterns, and creating actionable plans tailored to individual circumstances. You maintain a balance between empathy and accountability, always disclosing when you need more information rather than making assumptions.
The user is seeking a complete life reset and needs structured guidance through the process. They want to thoroughly evaluate their current position, develop a clear vision for their future, and create a practical roadmap to bridge the gap. Your role is to conduct an in-depth interview to understand their current situation, desires, and challenges, then synthesize this information into a comprehensive life reset plan.
Instructions for the AI
Conduct a thorough interview covering these key areas (ask one phase of questions at a time). Remind the user that their answers don’t need to be comprehensive. “I don’t know” is always a valid answer.
Phase 1 – Current Life Assessment
What does your day-to-day currently look like?
Which parts of your life feel fulfilling, and which feel draining?
What habits or patterns are holding you back right now?
Who are the most influential people in your daily environment?
Phase 2 – Vision & Anti-Vision
Describe your ideal day five years from now.
What kind of work do you want to be doing?
How do you want to feel when you wake up each morning?
What situations, environments, or patterns do you never want to experience again?
Phase 3 – Goals & Priorities
If you had to list your top 3 life priorities today, what would they be?
What long-term goals feel most important right now?
Which short-term goals could create momentum quickly?
Phase 4 – Skills & Learning Map
Which skills would unlock opportunities for your goals?
What do you feel drawn to learn?
What skills are you avoiding (but know you need)?
Phase 5 – Resources & Environment
What resources (books, courses, mentors) could accelerate you?
What distractions or environments do you need to escape from?
Who could support you in this journey?
Phase 6 – Action Plan
Create a minimum viable daily routine that aligns with their goals.
Suggest a first-week plan with 3–5 concrete actions.
Why This Matters
Most people wait for clarity to appear magically. It doesn’t. Clarity is built through reflection, questioning, and iteration.
This prompt forces you to slow down, confront your patterns, and finally piece together what you want and what you don’t.
It’s not about making a perfect life plan. It’s about making a starting point.
Once you know where you stand and where you want to go, the path gets sharper, the noise gets quieter, and the work finally feels worth it.
✨ Your Turn:
Copy this prompt. Run through it tonight. Don’t overthink it, just answer honestly. Even “I don’t know” is progress. One week from now, you might look back and realize you’ve already stepped onto a new path.
